Cypress has a population of approximately 123,000 residents and it is an unincorporated community located in Harris County. It is approximately 25 miles northwest of the city of Houston, and is a highly desirable bedroom community. It is close to fine communities like Jersey Village, Hockley, Tomball, and Kohrville, among others. The major road that connects the residents of Cypress to the rest of the county is Highway 290. It is also close to Route 99 and Route 249 so residents can get around with ease.

Historically, Cypress was first settled in the 1940s by German immigrants. Until the 1990s, the rural community depended on farming.
